Easy to install Product recevied quickly and it was easy to install. My house already have two Schlage with the same key code so I was able to purchase this one with my key code. One thing you need to note is that the Master code and user codes are on a sticker that is on the inside of the lock. Write it down before you install it or else you will be kicking yourself for not noting it before you install it. July 11, 2011
Best home improvement ever made!! I bought two of these last year and decided to buy a third for the garage. It is so awesome knowing that my home is protected by such a great device. We have very rough winters here in Montana and the door knob held up thru one of the worst winters we've ever had which really says a lot about Schlage. I will never go back to using keys again!! Efficient Keyless Lock My first 595 Locked proved to be very effective. Battery: last for 1 year. Quality of product: I have not seen any problem with the lock so far. It is vell made. Pros:The door can be set to lock automatically so one person has to enter password to open the door everytime the door is shut down. This is a good method of controlling your secure room. Installation: Need Phillip screw driver (Large & small) to install this lock. very easy to install. It took me 15 minutes to finish the installation. Pricing: Find a coupon online and buy in quantities to get free shipping. Planning can help to affor this units. I highly recommend this unit. October 10, 2009
Excellent I love this lock. It is very well made with a good "heavy" feel. Also, it is very easy to operate and program. The best part is that this model has the knob instead of the lever so the stupid cat can't open it. January 2, 2008

From the inside of the house...How do you know if it is locked? Also how long will the battery generally last?

A. This does have a thumb turn on the inside of the door that will indicate if it is locked or unlocked. The battery will last for about a year at a time.

is this a deadbolt

A. The Schlage FE595-PLY-PLY is a Keypad Entry door knob set, this does not include a deadbolt.

I am looking for a key pad entry lock that automatically locks the door when someone closes it. Do you have one that automatically locks without pushing a lock button?

A. The Schlage FE595-PLY-PLY has the option of automatic relocking. When set to this feature the door is automatically locked each time it is closed.
