Well crafted set I bought these handles because I'd been wanting to update my 20 y.o. worn bass knobs for some time. I finally settled on these handles and couldn't be more pleased. The handles were easy to swap for a left/right turn and came with the options for either a round or a rectangular door cut out making retro-fitting was a breeze for this woman. The color is more of a gun metal gray than the pictures shows, (I like it a lot). The metal is heavy and the finish should last a long time. January 9, 2011

I would like to buy Schlage F series handles (passage, privacy) but I notice their edge bore is 7/8". My doors are 1" edge bored and I will replace and use drive in latches. Can the Schlage F series handles be made to work and is so, how?

A. The larger bore shouldn't make a difference; the latch mechanism is secured on both ends so the larger hole is irrelevant. For the Avanti series, the drive-in faceplate is supplied. Installation should be uncomplicated.

is the finish and hardware on this product usable on and exterior door with a dead bolt? i would be using the aged bronze finish.

A. The Schlage F10-AVA finish is designed to stand up to exterior use.
